The Tát archipelago consists of three larger and one smaller (variable) island. The three larger ones are Tát Island, Nyáras Island and Körtvélyes Island. The variable small island is called Chitris Island. The Nyáros and Körtvélyes islands are separated by the Sebes Strait and surrounded by the small island of Chitri. All the islands are separated from the mainland by the Little Danube. In terms of administrative status, three of the four islands (Körtvélyes, Nyáros and Csitri) belong to Esztergom and the Tát islands to Thath.
